. san francisco could start changes driver who is use traffic beings. the purpose of the fee is to make up money spent by the fire department to handle the clean up of the accident. other cities in the country have the so-called first responder's fee. san francisco would be the first major california city to impose it. >>> a burger battle in the east bay. people want an in and out to stay out. a new in and out restaurant is proposed on north main street in pleasant hill. people in walnut creek said it will bring traffic and rowdy krouts. the times reports in and out burger is offering to an have a consultant do a traffic study, but the commissioners say the city needs to plan to stop cars from cutting through the neighborhood. >> are police are investigating three attacks in the south bay. the latest on take happened around noon on the 1600 block of monterey road. the thieves got away with the undisclosed amount of cash and none of the employees were hurt. no patients were inside when it happened. police are trying to locate security cameras that may have possibly captured those suspect

where that escalade is. kris sanchez joins us live from richmond this morning, where police gunned the suspect down. kris, how are officers really trying to untangle this web of crime? >> you know, it's difficult. they're trying to make sure they stay in constant communication with all of the different agencies, five of them in all, that are investigating this case. you mentioned that white escalade. that is still missing and is at large. but we do know that the vehicle that the suspect was in last night was crashed right into the front of this 99 ranch market here in richmond. inside that vehicle, another gruesome finding. chp officers found the body of a young asian woman. they checked for a pulse, there was no pulse, and at that point, it looked like she was beyond help. they say it looks like she was badly beaten and strangled. likely, that is the cause of death. chp officers are not releasing her name right now, but they do say that they believe she was the girlfriend of the suspect, efren valdemoro. now officers say that he crashed his car here after leading chp officers on t

inside the kayak was not hurt. the assistant curator at the aquarium of the bay in san francisco told us shark sightings are common in the bay area this time of year. in fact, the large seven-gill shark on display at the aquarium was caught last month near alcatraz. but he says shark attacks on humans are rare. >> obviously, there have been documented cases of shark attacks. but again, at the same time there are also statistics that will say you're more likely to be struck by lightning than you are to be, you know, bitten by a shark. >> reporter: experts also say many varieties of sharks visit the northern california coast. particularly between august and december. >> it's not uncommon for them to come into the bay, particularly right underneath the golden gate bridge into the mouth of the bay. they will come in there to feed off sea lions. >> reporter: mon monte francis,c bay area news. >>> there have been more sightings of great white sharks this summer than usual. they say that should be a reminder to anyone who goes into the water this labor day weekend to be careful. >>> this mornin
